Council Minutes 4/1/15

1. Approval of Minutes
2. Reports
  - (Mod): Auditorium might be used in the future.
  - (SA): Club budgets will be finalized a week from Friday.
  - (OEC): Elections coming soon on 5/1, discussed handbook revisions.
  - (Curric): Made plan of action on teacher feedback.
  - (Admin): Worked on Principal Motion Response Bylaw Revision.
  - (COI): Smarter balance testing from 4/27-5/1.
3. Microfinance Funds Allocation
  - Motion to allocate $250 from the Co-Curricular Budget to the Microfinance Club.

4. Plan M Motion
  - Motion to implement Plan M indefinitely.

  - From SL survey: 66% in favor, 15% indifferent, 18% not present last year.
  - Missing classes for Council pre-M was disruptive.
  - Old break on Wednesday was too short.
  - This originally came from the Scheduling Committee, work still needs to be done as a whole.
  - Motion passes.
5. Political Poster Motion
  - Motion to prohibit the display of political posters by the school.

  - This is intended to target specifically campaign posters.
  - Does not prohibit educational purposes or posters on lockers.
  - This motion solves a problem that does not exist.
  - Motion to amend the motion to read: “prohibit the display of political posters related to the school, by the school, except for educational purposes.
  - Amendment passes.
